Still debating it. Can only go for a day. It is 90 minute drive for me but I-95 can quickly jam with traffic, even on the weekend, making the trip much longer. Not sure it is worth the aggravation just to do some shopping. (Which is about all I will be doing.) |

pzivh43, he usually crashes at my place for the H'Con. Arriving Tuesday afternoon / evening. Wednesday, is typically spent cruising ACW sites. Last year was Pamplin Park, the year before Brandy Station. This year it's Richmond, starting at Tredegar Iron works, then on to a variety of spots, Cold Harbor, Malvern Hill, Drewry's Bluff, Gaine's Mill etc… Punctuate it with some BBQ and a fact-finding trip to determine if Richmond is becoming the "Munich of the West" (beer tasting) and there you have it! "Looking at dirt" indeed!! |

Another vote for 3/301. I'll be hip deep in it in 3 hours. Just avoid Caledon Rd. Stick with 206 to Kings Hwy after you get feet dry in Virginia. Caledon is shorter but a twisty headache. Even MapQuest warns you away from Caledon. Kings Highway is longer but fast and pleasant. |
