Is that a cannon stickin' outta yer hull, or are ya just glad ta see me? |
Lt Col Pedant | 11 Jul 2016 10:51 a.m. PST |
The cannon looks like a cigar with a prepuce grafted on it. |

Yes – the figure is great, but the base is kinda crap… |

I agree with StarCruiser. |

How exactly is the base crap? Luke to see the critics do better. Seaweed washed up along with shells on a beach. Blackbeard on an armed small shoreboard. Tough crowd. |

The base is crap in a way we can all see. Why is the gun sticking out of a hole? Why are the planking lines not scribed consistently? Why is the hull so thick? Why are the details so fuzzy compared to the figure? Why does the base look like it belongs at the bottom of an aquarium? Why does everyone who can see for themselves have to be called a "hater"? |
StarCruiser | 23 Jul 2016 8:25 a.m. PST |
Again – the figure of mighty Blackbeard himself is very nice and nicely done but yes – the base does look like an aquarium piece… |

It reminds me too much of TAJ Books' weapon book series in which huge, high-quality images of weapons have terribly pixelly, low-resolution images of accessories crudely 'shopped onto them. Not that you wouldn't see this in gaming, because the standards of terrain and minis are often different. But this is a display piece and is highly inconsistent, and looks horrendous for it. |

This is a display piece. The boat represents a wrecked ship and all the aquatic items associated with a wreck. It's not suppose to display a historically accurate scene. Mark |
