Wow. That's a pretty lame 'interview'. Nothing but softball questions there.

This comes off as a mainstream product synthesizing the work of many talented researchers and authors for a pop culture audience raised on A Ken Burns documentary.

In response to being asked "Why did you write this book?", he might as well have said, he wanted to cash in on his brand recognition and make a pile of money.


I think I'll stick to the many other fine works by other authors.

It's a pretty typical author's book tour interview. Light on substance, long on salesmanship.

The book gets good reviews on Amazon, so I will probably pick up a copy.

Ya, the book is rather good. It is a relatively easy read and a good survey of the subject.
