I am putting my 15mm Austrians together to send for painting. The first batch are figures purchased second hand and they were not in their original packaging from Old Glory. I notice on their website that they have German and Hungarian infantry/grenadier figures. Are there any real differences in the uniforms between the two?

There significant differences. This website will tell you all you need to know for 15mm purposes.

As dbf1676 says big differences.
Hungerians, dragoons and hussars give colour to the Austrian sea of white.

I was more interested in the actual uniforms rather than colors. I understood the different colors for Hungarians but wanted to know what made the uniforms different. I see from taking a closer look at the SYW project website that one main difference is gaiters. That is enough of a difference there to make sure I get the proper figures even tough I am playing a brigade scale game. And yes the colous will be nice to have in that "sea of white". Thanks guys!

The coats are generally different too.
And Hungerians don't gave gaiters but pantaloons. But yes big enough difference in 15mm or even 10mm
In fact I would say almost all other uniforms (prussian/hanoverian/British/French with turnbacks) look more like regular Austrian uniforms then the Hungerians do.

A-yep. That's why you get different castings for Austro-German vs. Hungarian infantry. Another noticeable point, even in small scales, is that the Hungarian infantry are supposed to still have hangar swords in the SYW, while the German fusileers only have bayonets. Many sculptors fail on this, and give the Austo-Germans swords too, but that's !*wrong*!

No national differences in the Dragoons and Cuirassiers, though.

Appreciate the feedback guys. Helps me out with my order this week.

I'm painting Austrians for 7YW in 10mm, there are noticeable differences, even at this scale.

Hungarian Line have swords, have trousers not gaiters, pompoms on tricorns, waiste belt in multiple colours.

Also some regiments' grenadiers have small metal plates on their bearskins.

All the above are sculpted on Pendraken 10mm, lovely figures!
