A rumor says that copies of Valiant Miniatures will be produced in 20mm and they will be available in December 2016. Despite claiming to be 1/72nd scale they always seemed to me to be more 28mm. Is someone going to release copies of them in 20mm? Will these new versions be identical to the big ones? Will they be more of a true 1/72nd scale so they can mix freely with other 1/72nd scale soft plastic figures? It would be nice. Mike Bunkermeister Creek Bunker Talk blog |

My impression was that they were TRUE 1/72nd scale, which is in turn TRUE 25mm. THey are the same size as Ral Partha minis. |

I have always liked Valiant figures…. I think they are the best sculpted plastics. AND they are a Genuine 1/72. The problem has always been reconciling the fact that other vehicle makers DON'T do the same scale and there is an apparent mismatch to the eye. I don't know about Ral Partha, but I am told Ravensthorpe figs scale in with Valiant. (?) Still, looking forward to anything new from Armourfast… another good company. |

Since they are genuine 1/72 I guess that they will go well with true 1/72 scale vehicles like Dragon's Shermans which scale out almost perfectly to 1/72, am I right? |

The Valiant stuff are quite a bit bigger than 1/72. And worse, unlike most 1/72 plastics, they are not well-proportioned. The MG42 works out to be 1.5m long and much thicker! Quite a bit of GW telephone pole weapon syndrome. link They are very well-detailed though, so if they are remade in real 1/72 scale, that would be great. |

+1 Greg To refer to these as 1/72 is being rather generous. They are overscale – far more suitable to call them 25mm and then people would compare them to Minifigs etc 1/72 is demonstrated far better with soft plastic figures and reviewed at plasticsoldierreview |

Here we go again…………….. They are only in scale at 1/72 if you assume the average 1940's young male was 6' 3" tall and weighed around 220 pounds. Try putting ten of these guys in the back of a Hanomag or Opel Blitz 1/72 is 22.5mm NOT 25, 26 or 27mm! TMP link |

…yet everyone lets the fugly Platoon 20 minis with their bobbleheads fly, but Valiant! Oh, Valiant, all the flak it can get. You can't like Valiant minis because reasons! No! |
