I am painting the above to fill out my officer ranks. What colors should I paint them? Is there a general color for facings, breeches, and small clothes on Prussian generals? Do they have facings, breeches, and small clothes colors that match the infantry units they were originally colonels of?What about horse gear? Blue blankets, red? Looking for input.

I believe that in most cases, if not all, Prussian General Officers wore the uniforms of the regiment of which they are inhaber. I'm not sure about the horse furniture, however.

Exactly right – Prussian General Officers wore their regimental uniforms – hence scenes like this

In the case of cavalry generals I am pretty sure their saddle clothes and saberques (when used) were in regimental colours – I have seen various colours for Freddie the Great but one of the most popular pictures has a buff/yellow saddle cloth with white edging

the only distinction that marked out a general from any other regimental officer was a fringe of cut white feathers on his hat border.

Thanks for the input. Based on the info here, I finished painting the figures, with colors based on units they were inhabers of.

They're not cheap, but Front Rank puts out nice figures that are easy to paint. These are the first I've purchased and I am happy with them and the customer service of Front Rank.
