As if having no idea when/if book six will be out now it seems that Season 7 is indefinitely delayed as well; link So, they're waiting for bad weather…. |

I'm good with it. Winter sets the mood better anyway. |

Winter is coming… Wait. It's here! Well, not in Pennsylvania at any rate. It's 90F today. I don't know what that is in the Communist regimes that use Celsius. Is Westeros one of those, or do they just say "By the Old Gods and the New, it's hot today!" And how do maestars and the Citadel in Oldtown measure temperature? |

Book 6? There's a Book 6? Tell me about it! |

However, there are two less episodes next year, correct? So that should make it easier to get the season in the can. |

Change of the season? There is more to it. Has to be. Winter arrives at roughly the same time every year. Why postpone indefinitely? My guess is that George does not have an outline for Book 7 and there are now some disputes that need resolved. |

What I wonder is whether they will film scenes for season 8 at same time as season 7 so as to save money, time, and (now) address weather concerns. I gues the biggest problem with doing that, however, is Martin's writing schedule, not to mention spoilers. |

SPOILERS Change of the season? There is more to it. Has to be. Winter arrives at roughly the same time every year. I think, since they generally film in Winter anyway that it's yet another attempt to give GRRM more time to finish Book6. The series is already well beyond the books, and looking at the Chapters of Book 6 that GRRM has released, the series has in many ways gone in a completely different direction. In Book 5 of course Ramsay marries an Arya impersonator not Sansa who is masquerading as Alayne and will, in Book 6, get involved in internal political machinations in the Vale. This of course means that everything involving the North in Season 6 is different from what will happen in the Books. In Book 6 of course Tyrion hooks up with Penny and Jorah and they all join a mercenary company, in the series Jorah rides off into the sunset and Tyrion becomes Dany's hand and there is no Penny or Mercenary company. Anyway I think that D&D and HBO have bent over backwards to allow GRRM more time. They extended the number of seasons (actually only by half since there are 15 episodes left and two full seasons would be 20). But let's face it, we won't see Book 6 before next year and at his normal pace we won't have Book 7 before 2020. The endings will be the same in that I guess the same person will sit on the Iron Throne and the outcome of the War with the White Walkers will be the same but other than that very little will be the same. |

It's entirely Martin's fault that the HBO series will be canon, and his books, if he ever finishes them, will be quaint curiosities. Note. I wrote "canon". Not "cannon". Thank the Old Gods and the New that HBO spared us Penny, and she and Tyrion wiping dysentery off the bottom of a 600 lb slaveholders master. |

It's entirely Martin's fault that the HBO series will be canon, and his books, if he ever finishes them, will be quaint curiosities. I have to agree which kills me because I am a reader and a staunch defender of books vs. movies/TV adaptations. I started with the books and hadn't really watched the series until this year. Martin began writing the series in 1991, 25 years ago. The last book released came out in 2011, the same year that GoT premiered on HBO. While I'm not one of those who believes that GRRM should lock himself in a room and not come out until he's done I do have to say that had he budgeted his time better, and had his books been better edited, he could have been done by now. Especially since his original idea was for a trilogy which pretty much shows how much has been added as "filler". Thank the Old Gods and the New that HBO spared us Penny, and she and Tyrion wiping dysentery off the bottom of a 600 lb slaveholders master.
Yes, I thank the Gods that a lot of stuff was left out but especially this. |

Well… last time they made a movie on Winter there (Di Caprio one)… they have to fly to Argentine to finished it because of the lack of snow… (smile) Amicalement Armand |

That was a chinook. Pretty much just an Alberta phenomenon. Just wait three hours and it starts snowing again. |
