Interesting – doubtless the cautions about disturbing
wreck sites are merited, even more so if they are
considered war graves, as many sites are.

However, there's also the government's interest in
potentially recovering from some areas (Great Lakes
comes to mind) for its own purposes.

Sable and Wolverine probably contributed dozens of
USN aircraft to that pool, most, if not all, unarmed.

Crew remains are another matter, of course.
