Got a chance to see the new Legend of tarzan today. I was prepared to be disappointed but found myself really enjoying the movie. A pleasant surprise. |

It was entertaining while it was on. The ending was disappointing but the rest of the movie was a lot better. |

Now I gotta decide 15mm or 28mm |

Shouldn't that choice be 35mm or 70mm? ^,^ |

I tried to like it…but failed. I get Tarzan is a fantasy character…but then again wrapping it a shread of real history, some compelling characters and a plot that made just a little bit of sense would have been nice. Thousands of mysterious mercenaries dressed in black uniforms, from who knows where, poised to enslave the entire Belgian Congo? …..really?? Corporate/Government greed plots are getting tedious. I was left waiting for Tarzan to get into a protracted car chase and/or to blow up a sizable portion of the jungle. |

Thousands of mysterious mercenaries dressed in black uniforms, from who knows where, poised to enslave the entire Belgian Congo? …..really?? I don't recall mercenaries dressed in black uniforms I thought they just sort of were all wearing generic "Boer" type clothing. And the force publique was at least partially made up of mercenaries in the 1880's. Also as far as government greed goes, the belgian congo is pretty high up there on the lists of all time worst. Anyway I was in the same predicament as D6 Junkie a couple days ago. I decided to go with 15mm since it had more variety for my interests as well as a much cheaper cost and takes up less storage space. |

Shouldn't that choice be 35mm or 70mm? Who makes figures in 70mm? I don't plan on purchasing them since I'm going with 15/18 just curious as I've never even heard of that scale. |

@ Highland The Mercenaries referenced were aboard ships at the end….if they were'nt black uniforms they were close to it. Certainly not fit for Africa. They had to contrast with the supposed Belgian forces ashore, couldn't be red….so a very dark ominous color is all they had left to work with. I think the Force Publique were nice. |

Also @ Highland I think miniMo was using a scale vs film size pun :) |

It was a decent flick with some interesting imagery for Africa in the late 1800s and with the potential for some gaming scenarios. |

Going 28mm as that is what I have a plethora of including the wild life. However, I will need more apes, lots more apes. I also do not have Belgians. I have Germans however along with their Askaris. Well now I have to see the movie which I was anyway. Go 28 mm as it has the character you are going to want. |

Saw the movie today and thought it was great! The film was extremely faithful to the spirit of ERB's books while updating the character. Not sure where the complaint is regarding black uniformed troops except on the troop ships toward the end of the movie. And the uniforms appeared more dark blue to me than black. Lots of potential for gaming as Pictor stated and found the ending a nice wrap up while leaving the potential for a franchise. Skarsgard was a perfect casting for Tarzan/Lord Greystoke, Margot Robbie was a wonderful as Jane, Samuel L. Jackson was…well Samuel L. Jackson but he did not detract from the film and was an interesting character that worked with the plot. It was some of the best CGI to date I have seen. It worked and did not detract from the film. |
