Hi all. Just posted a review of some of the terrain products from these companies over at Dead Dick's Tavern. Check it out if so inclined! Comments welcome, there or here. |

Thanks for the review. I'd forgotten about Laser Cut Card. They have some interesting stuff. As you have experence with their product let me ask your opinion of a couple of things. You primed the water tower first. I was wondering if spraying it with a flat/semi-flat clearcoat might be best. The clear coat might seal the card and, being flatish, allow 'tooth' for the actual paint. I was a little concerned, when you wrote the card sucked up paint, that it might warp. There is no texture on the outside of the card? |

dragon6: I thought about applying some dullcote to the cardboard before painting, but in the end I just primed it black. Had I known I was going to paint it yellow I probably would have primed it gray instead. I was also swayed by LCC's own painting instructions: link It definitely doesn't warp. There is no texture on the outside of the card, other than natural "cardboard texture". You can see what I mean under the graffiti on the center panel of the tower. I used some rust pigment over the paint on the struts and platform, but that's it. In hindsight, using craft paint might have been my problem. There's a high water content in craft paint that may lend itself to saturation. That being said, I'm pretty happy with it anyway. Just nitpicking, as we gamers do. |
