Tree Girl is finished with school for the Summer. So what to do for Summer vacation? Go to the pool, watch fireworks and make trees. She is hard at work in production mode hoping to finish lots of trees for HISTORICON. She is also a budding pastry chef and is planning on making cookies for the convention again. (We'll see if we can get her to branch out to other pastries for Historicon.) So here is the question… She is absolutely making chocolate chip cookies, but what other types of cookies should she make? For Cold Wars the vote was Oatmeal Raisin. What kind of cookie should she make for HISTORICON? |

Tree Girl just flocked 28 trees this morning. She has another 20 she is going to do after lunch. |

No chocolate chip fans? My, we are growing far more uncivilized than I would have ever thought. I hope she does well at the convention. |

will she have any winter type trees? And oatmeal raisin… |

For the record – She IS making Chocolate Chip. The question is what to include alongside of the Chocolate Chip. As for pics – I would rather not put up pics of my 10 year old daughter on the web. She will be at Historicon this year though if you want to meet her. I am not sure about winter trees, we will have to see what she is inspired to do. |

Any kind that has the word "cookie" associated with it. Although the oatmeal-raisin ones were top contenders. Jefritrout, does Tree Girl consort with elves and bake her wares in a hollow tree??? How about pics of her crafts--trees and cookies? And I'm all for Oatmeal-Raisin Cookie trees, winter style or not. If I can get a few of those planted… |

I also vote for the peanut butter with kiss center. Flatten the top of the kiss while hot (in 2 steps) so it looks like Isandlawana. |

I won't be at Historicon but I love oatmeal raisin. |

I hope Tree Girl is licensed to produce and sell said cookies per State and Federal Laws! |

Silly, those aren't cookies, they're terrain patches to set the trees upon. Right, guys? wink, wink, nudge, nudge. |

I know there's on reasonable chance I'm going to Historicon, but might I suggest ANZAC cookies? |

Might be a bit of a stretch..but how about these? link |
jefritrout | 06 Jul 2016 8:02 a.m. PST |
M1Fanboy, That might be a bit much for her to bring to the convention, the chocolate might melt. However Treegirl would love to make that. She might experiment this weekend. Recipe has already been e-mailed to mom, for her to try out. She has been hired to make 3 cakes over the Summer 2 for kids birthdays and 1 for a "grown up" birthday. (and she makes them by scratch not a mix). |

I'll be at Historicon. I second the vote for ANZAC cookies. I haven't had any since leaving Oz. |
