Every time I think of Episode VII, I have a lowered opinion of it. I hope beyond hope that Rogue One will somehow save the fading franchise.

Isn't he…. dead?

chromedog05 Jul 2016 7:10 p.m. PST

Vader died in Jedi.
This is set PRIOR to A new hope.
Rogue 1 is concerned with the rebel operation to steal the imperial battle station plans.

Those same plans that were sent to the tantive IV in ep4, that Leia ended up stowing in an R2.

Vader's mission in ep4 was RECOVERY of these stolen plans.
I fully expect him to show up at the end of the movie (after the heist happens).

So long as it has James Earl Jones voicing Vader and not that other guy, I'm good.

chromedog06 Jul 2016 7:38 p.m. PST

I don't see why it wouldn't.

He's voiced the role for Rebels several times already. Actors still have to eat and Disney pays as well as anyone else.

True, and since Lucas is no longer in control and trying to retcon everything…

chromedog11 Jul 2016 4:22 a.m. PST

And just like the original trilogy, I expect 2 other actors to also play him (took 3 in the original).
You had the stunt guy (Bob Anderson), the standing there looking intimidating guy (Dave Prowse) and the voice guy.

Even with what they did in ep3, JEJ still voiced that post-transformation scene.
