The amount of work and time that must have gone into making that. Incredible.

Hello.

This diorama is on show at the Rifles regiment in Winchester. The original was mainly Airfix conversions but it was updated for the bi centennial.

It is an impressive but unfortunately flawed work. The Hougoumont woods and orchards are not there and the south gate has the later addition building for example.

Having said that it is well worth a visit if you are in the area.

For something as equally, if not more impressive, and also accurate, visit Thomas Mischaks work. It has been a labour of love for over twenty years I believe and he is still upgrading it.

You will not be disappointed.

Happy modelling.

Scots Greys converted from Airfix US Cavalry! That takes me back. It was only a few years ago I finally got rid of the last of my own version.

British Dragoons converted from Airfix French Cuirassiers. I did that, too.

But most impressive – massive casualty figures. That brings tears to my eyes!

Nah, if it's going to be Airfix figures then they need to be in that bright yellow we had as kids… grin

Finally got to it, an nice to see. If it was made today the figures would be a lot more accurate as there is such a great range of 1/72 plastics available these days for Waterloo. But as a period piece, it is still nice – and the sort of thing I find myself drawn to when I am wandering museums. It's the kid in me still…
