Thinking about building up WW2 armies. Have some Warlord and Old Glory figs for pulp style gaming but am about ready to take the plunge and build up a pair (or more) of platoon sized units for skirmish game.

I like warlord's but they seem a little weedy. I'm looking for something with more beefy rifles. The Pulp Figures by Bob Murch seem about right.

How do the BTD compare to Warlord and Artizan?

Black Tree Design Germans are not as bulky as Warlord's and Artizan's. The Warlord plastics are bulkier, but the weapons are not exaggerated (oversized) like the metal figures' and are easier to break, so you're probably better off going metal.

FYI: BTD is currently having a 50% off sale on WWII miniatures.

Yeah,
That's what got me thinking. I like the oversized rifles on the Blacktree figs, vs Warlord.

Go for BT!
Much more pauses and variations, you can easily field a platoon and more without repainting the same figure.
Proportions are ok on all the Whermacht and Russians ranges with plenty of equipments added on each figure, you'll love them!
They mix well with WG waffen SS on the tabletop also!
The only bad point, the service is good, but communication absent …
Good painting!
