We're making progress with more webphotos and this month we've received the painted cavalry to complete both these and the AWI Americans.

This 10mm range was sculpted by the talented Clibinarium and then Andy Mac has waved his magic paintbrush over them.

I am looking to start an AWI collection. Thought 28mm. But these…..I will have to look at 10mm.

Resistance is futile

Thanks for all the comments, much appreciated!

@ 79thPA:

He is indeed! I don't know if it comes across clearly in the photos, but some of the detailing on some of the Highlanders especially is insane.

@ Davoust: Thanks for the reply, give me a shout or drop us an email if we can help with anything.

Clib and Andy have done an excellent job, very nice!

Cheers, RC.

I think I am more persistent than most when it comes down to finding photos, but even I give up at times. I think for many, if there is not a photo, they will not give it a second look, in this age of things needing to be instant.

Plus these will all appear in Google images, so it is a very wise decision to have painted troops. Leon, I imagine you will begin to see more new first time buyers, and with the "unfortunate" decline of the British Pound, coupled with 4th of July, this would be very attractive to prospective U.S. buyers.

Gorgeous sculpts and paint jobs.

@ Ilodic:

You're definitely right and we're working hard to add more photos to all of the ranges. It's a surprisingly time consuming job unfortunately, just 20 codes can take 5-6 hours to cast up, assemble if necessary, blackwash, photo, edit, upload, etc. With over 2000 codes still needing images, that's a good 600+ hours required for us to get them all sorted out!

Ilodic04 Jul 2016 12:05 p.m. PST

I think if time is a concern, blackwash may be the way to go, at least tentatively. I often times think figures look best when blackwashed, and tend to highlight the best of the features. Paint can cover up flaws, blackwash cannot.

Your AWI and LoA line are the best you have, IMHO.

Blackwashing is the quicker option, but it's still that 600-plus hours to get photos for everything on our site unfortunately.

With these AWI and some of the other ranges recently, we've found it quicker (although more expensive!) to send the figures away to be painted. That way we get nicer images to show off the figures, plus we don't have to spend as long prepping them at this end.

We've got the full ACW and Napoleonic ranges painted up and in the office now, just waiting to be photo'd up, so I'll try and get those done over the next couple of months.

A lot of work, yes,but very much appreciated!

And I'll wager will pay off in increased sales.
