I need a contingent of these. Not sure what to do about figures. I was thinking of using Artizan Berbers, but the ones who do not have their faces covered do not look very Sudanese. Not sure what other options are around in 28mm. Any ideas? |

Interesting. I am not familiar with this range of figures, but they look nice. Two questions: 1) are the shields separate? 2) there is only one code for a spearman, and one code for an archer, but it looks like there are multiple poses, or are they mixed in here with someone else's figures? |

Old Glory does Sudanese, both spearmen and archers, in their Crusaders and Saracens range. As usual, pics on their website are not good. |

I'm familiar with the Old Glory figures. IIRC correctly the archers are wearing robes and the spearmen loinclothes, which struck me as an odd way to sculpt the two related groups…. |

Fireforge has some in resin, and the Gripping Beast plastic arabs would probably work. |

The MDS berbers come with seperate shields. I ordered extra round/ear drop, but the line also comes with hippo shields. There are multiple poses for both spear and archer – the website lists 5 poses each. The figures are smallish for 28mm – thin like the Perry Brothers. Fun and easy to paint with clean lines. They used to be cheap when Miniature Design Studio was independent. Little more pricy under the current seller. |

Gripping Beast and Musketeer/Footsore Miniatures both do excellent Sudanese troops. |
