Looking for references to generate air battle scenarios. Something with a little more details that 'somewhere over the front…" Anything like that exist? Or am I asking too much from the record keeping of the day? For the trifecta – it would reference the Italian fronts rather than the Western Front. |

I recently picked up a copy of Norman Franks' 'Sharks Among Minnows'. He gives fairly detailed descriptions of many of the small daily battles that resulted in kills for one side or the other. I don't know how his 'Over the Front' is, but it might be worth a look. |

Would you like to debate the issue? I have been working on the same issue. What year and month? What aircraft do you want to use. I have all the WOG aircraft and some shapeways over 200 total. |

Well sure. Italian Front – 19916-1917 and 1917-1918 for starters. I'm really leaning toward flying boats, so maritime patrols in the Otranto sector and the Adriatic have a lot of interest for me. The Izonzo and coastal fronts – okay, sure. Like you I've got a mess of planes. Don't think it's over 100, but it's still growing. |
