"[Kickstarter] Shattered Void - Space Fighter Combat" Topic

Hiya folks! A bit of a lurker on TMP but hopefully there may be some of you guys in the Spaceship part of here who may be interested in this!

I'd just like to casually drop in here our 2nd Kickstarter campaign in which we want to bring our tabletop wargame, Shattered Void, into production! Having been at Salute showing off the game for 4 years now we're pleased to finally have the opportunity to bring it to Kickstarter.

Like our previous Kickstarter, a range of 15mm Sci-Fi miniatures, we've made sure all the miniatures (plus stretchgoal unlockable ones) have been sculpted, 3d printed and initial production casts produced which means we're pretty much ready to go!

Mmm… nice miniatures, looks like they've been crisply executed. If I can offer some criticism, I'd suggest the video needs less emphasis on the background and more on the actual minis / game.

Also, although the mechanics of the game look simple and sound, I don't see anything that makes me think it would be a better space fighter simulator than any other currently on the market.

I participated in their 15mm sci fi kickstarter and the minis were outrageously good. Got a lot of value for the investment.

Martin: Did you check the video under 'gameplay'? Agreed to what you say if you JUST see the one at the top, and hoping everyone will scroll down and hunt for it is not a recipe for success. ;->=

The reason I did was to try to get a hold on the size of these hummers. Plenty of places for a layout grid or ruler, especially in the 3D models.

I will say after perusing, these have the potential of fitting with the Star Crash figs I supported a while ago, both in scale and cost.

We've posted up an update that includes the Kickstarter Edition of the rules for Shattered Void alongside previewing the third race, the Astivar Collective.

As for scale, we will endeavour to get some scale shots up with other miniatures so you guys can gauge them for yourselves. Typically the smaller fighter craft are around 3.5cm – 4.5cm in length with some of the larger vessels that are planned will be 10-15cm+.

Certainly, I detected no 'ill will,' though an openness to the critical on your part is excellent. ;->=

About the sizing I expected, which is a bit larger than I usually go for, but in the X-Wing range, which puts favorably close to the Star Crash ones, methinks.

I'll be looking at the rule system with interest as well, as I end up finding that same X-Wing a bit fiddly for my tastes.

Edit: Followed the link, congratulations on the nearing the goal, and, oh, there's a downloadable ruleset! I know it hurts your pride of creation considering how lovely the book is, but you might think about a printer-friendly version…

Edit, part deux: I should be VERY surprised if the Astavar Heavy and Interceptor aren't looked upon favorably by 15mm groppo players.

Hi folks!

An update has gone out today in which we've clarified a few of the points that were brought up, added scale comparisons, black and white rules and also unveiled the optional purchase of the 28mm Marine Tactical Unit.

Head on over and glance at the update which will hopefully answer a number of the questions posed here!
