I have a lovely army of old Wargames Foundry Franks and Saxons which I've rebase done for Dux Bellorum (the Ospray rules). Looking around, I fancy getting Footsore Romans to fight them.

Anyone tell me if the two ranges are a good match size wise? I find Gripping Beast don't match Foundry so well, so hope Footsore are a bit smaller.

Thank you.

They're about a head taller and proportionally stouter than Foundy Franks.

You are going to have to go smaller if you want your Northern barbarians to be of equal height to your Romans – who may of course have been northerners anyway. If you don't want to pay Foundry prices for their late Romans try Newline Design which are a bit more Foundry like in size, if not as well posed or modeled.

Thanks both. Not what I was hoping for but best to know now!!!

Must be because it's the Fourth but "Footsore Romans" and "Foundry Franks" sound like some kind of bizarre picnic/BBQ food. grin

I'd confirm that Gripping Beast (Patten sculpts) are very close to Footsore. The Soapy sculpts tend to be even bigger and the Gripping Beast Thornhill ones I have (vikings) are big dudes.
