So got a few Mechwarrior Dark Age Clix. Wondered what is the best way to disassemble them? I want to take a few apart into their individual parts. Has anyone done so successfully? If yes, care to share? Grimm |

I have chopped up a few but never disassembled them. A very sharp blade will very neatly separate them then pin and glue afterwards :) Cheers Matt |

They're pretty easy to cut apart with a hobby knife. Get some slats of balsa so you can prop them from underneath while pushing straight down with the knife. You can also work the parts out of the joints. Hold on either side of a joint and rock back and forth slowly perpendicular to the axis of rotation. It takes a while and you can end up snapping the pin anyway, but you can get most of them apart like this. |

I used a pair of needlenose pliers with plastic tubing slipped over the two plier faces. If you grip a limb as close to the joint as possible, you can gently work the limb out of the joint without damaging it. |

So how are they put together? Peg and joint? Glued halves? What Glued they use? Anyone know if a good soak will lessen the bond? If yes, what to soak it in? I am looking to disassemble because I want to make a cockpit interior and don't want to start hacking and slashing. Gtimm |

The movable portions are put together with a ball-and-joint system, and the plastic is flexible enough that you can just pop them out. The feet seem to be glued to the bases, although with what, I have no idea. |
