Just wondering if anyone has used these rules for solo play? If so, any tips or advice?

I'm going to try and learn these rules and see if I can find some willing people in the Seattle area that want to give them a go, but primarily, this is going to be for me and my man cave downstairs :)

Captaincold69:
First, SK is a very under rated rule set. I've had them since their hex only versions and really enjoy them.
For me when playing solo, I will ask someone, wife, son, email a fellow gamer, 'what would you do in this circumstance with this information?' Then follow their response for the side I'm not playing. I'll roll a dice to decide minor stuff. I've had no issues with SK rules solo.

Download Chain Reaction for free. There's a Non-Player Movement Table that will work with any rules, even non-THW. Works great.

Try "semi-solo" gaming instead:

Captaincold, currently I am looking for a simple way to play Schwere Kompanie solo. It may involve a random or generated response chart and a slightly modified rules

I've now read the rules twice and I LOVE the combat mechanics, however, everything is just too meaty for me.

Any ideas on how to simplify the game without losing the "chrome" on the combat mechanics?

I'm going to try and house your rules the best I can.

Troy, your rules are pretty damn nice, but I'm going to try and start up a group in my area and I'm afraid the rules will be just too much for the average beginning gamer.

Thank you

Ed

Thank you for this.

I too have the SK rules and I really like how they read and it's time to play test them, but it's going to be solo for me.

@Captaincold: Try armor only scenarios – the pace is quick and later you can introduce AT guns. A scenario can be played out with a couple platoons of tanks per side in two hours or less.

Cheers!
