Would they carry a standard?

Winston Smith29 Jun 2016 6:37 a.m. PST

No. Standards belonged to "parent" regiments. Even if a company was stripped to form s converged battalion, its nominal standard stayed with the regiment.

Thanks, that is what I thought but my reference books are currently in storage.

The exception is Rall's Grenadier Regiment, which did carry standards at least as far as Trenton. It was raised as a grenadier regiment rather than being composed of companies detached from musketeer/fusilier regiments.

Of course. I forgot about Rall.
Rall is a grenadier REGIMENT, as opposed to a converged battalion.
