"How many games a year?" Topic

We all 'talk the talk' but how many games do you average in a year?

On a recent discussion on WD3, the enemy Time seems to limit a lot of us:

So in the last 12 months:

1. 0 games

2. 1-10

3. 11-25

4. More than 25

3. 11 – 25; average one or two a month

My goal is 4 (retirement goal)

A weekly club helps, so more than 25.

Games or gaming sessions? We might play a two different full-table scenarios on a (monthly) game day … or several half-table short skirmishes (usually linked to a larger campaign).

Games … around 40, or about 3/month.

More than 25. Probably more than 25 games of AoS alone at this point.

4. Every other week I play on two groups. Saturdaybis the "club game" and Sunday the FoW game.
Not quite 52, because of the weekends lost for various reasons, but still good.

0. But I've been having health issues that keep me from the gaming table. Still do RPGs more regularly (less crouching over a table reaching for figures…I have back issues I'm getting worked on..)

Several gaming clubs/store-events. And we play a fair number of short games — X-WIng and DBA. So, probably 15-25/month.
Applying more math = 180-300/year. That's the miniatures games.

Boardgames, maybe 15 a month.

4. I get in over 150 games a year. Over half of that is Epic Armageddon, the rest double battles of One Hour Wargames, Big Battle DBA, or something similar. Yeah, I'm retired :- )

Easily 4. Club once a week so roughly 50 miniature games there (normally one a session but X-Wing, Kings of War, etc. can get a couple of plays in).

Add boardgaming and the fact we play at lunch at work adds about another 220 sessions a year. Of those some are multiple plays per lunch (Star Realms, Dominion, Love Letter, etc.)

And the very few ones I get to play at home with friends or children.

Number three for this rabbit. 2 per month is my best average.

I'm in a club, so more than 25.

Allowing for holidays, but adding in the odd weekend gaming event, it is more like 50.

Averaging around 3 to 4 a month, so well over 25 a year.

4 – I play with friends about twice a month and solo several times a year (in a good year).

3 (11 to 25). I include board war gaming in that total since they are the same hobby to me.

Being in a club that meets more or less weekly helps: so, over 25 definitely.

YTD = 13 so I'll say 20-26 games a year.

About one per month with my usual group. Add in conventions and we are up to 18-20.

18 gaming sessions so far, not counting a few board games.
So that's 30-40 per year for our club.

Around 50, about 1 a week, miss a few weeks but occasionally get in two or three.

Once a week. I skip the odd week, but occasional gaming weekends make up for it.

The opportunity is there for four games a week, but there's really no way I could spare the time. I don't think my better half would be amused, either.

I attended two conventions over the last 12 months and played 10 to 15 games. I don't think I've had a single game with my gaming group because I've been too busy with work.

Rdfraf: I know it FEELS like about that for me, but I'm sure better than double that.

Others depend on the kindness of strangers; I depend on my friends, even if I can't find the energy to wrangle a game on my own.

I have a regular group that meets once a week. Occasionally things come up, so 3 times/month is the average.

Too few.

Only 11 so far in 2016. Played 34 last year.
