Looking for info for the Danish Army, from the 1950s – 1989. I know their jeeps first mounted 106mm Recoilless Rifles on them, for anti-tank use, back in the day. Afterwards though, the lists just mention MAW, or Medium Anti-tank Weapons. So, I'm wondering which ATGMs they used for them, and for their ground/mech. troops as well? I know they had the Carl Gustav, and believe they had TOWs. I've also seen the AT-4 listed in the inventory as well, according to one website, listing an inventory of ATGMs the Danish Army still has on hand. Curious though, to know if they used any others, like Milan, etc., back in the day, and also when the various ATGMs were introduced to replace the RCLs? Thoughts? |

When they first came out (in development?) you had LAW (Light Anti tank weapon), MAW (Medium Anti Tank Weapon: Dragon) and HAW (Heavy Anti tank weapon: TOW). I suspect that it was the M47 Dragon. |

No other ATGM than TOW in the danish army, introduced on the land rover in 1974 and TOW 2 in -84. The MAW is most probably the "carl gustav" or dysekanon m/79 or m/85 for the lightweight M3 version, which denmark bought quite the few of.. The dysekanon won the danish trials between carl gustav, milan and dragon. |

Like the Canadians, they had M72 66mm LAW, CG 84mm LAW and TOW (which had replaced 106mm RR). There was no light ATGM such as Dragon or MILAN. |

Thanks for the info, and quick replies. I really appreciate it. Perfect. Gotta have something to stave off those PT-76s, BTR-50s and/or BTR-60s, and T-54s/T-55s hitting the beaches. My guess is a handful of M41s won't be up to the challenge on their own. |

Perfect job for the 20-pdr Centurions though ;-) |

Where did you find Danish M41s? |

Battlefront sells them. The later variant didn't get all the special kit until the mid-1980s apparently, so the Vietnam era ones will do just fine. Also using some for my early Cold War West Germans, who need a platoon of five, to support their other vehicles, e.g. HS-30s, Jagdpanzers, etc., in the 1960s and early 1970s. Might even have to splurge and get some M24s as well, just for grins. |
