I have reconfigured (but not rebased) my 28mm French figures for Big Bloody Battles. Up first, is the Imperial Guard. Two Divisions plus a Cavalry Division of three stands. I had toyed with the idea of each cavalry stand representing a different regiment but who can resist the Guard Lancers in White Jackets?
The Rules provide that the Guard is Veteran and (Aggressive to boot). What better way to denote this status but with a mounted officer? He doesn't engage in combat per se but he is a heck of a status marker! The regular trained troops have no leader. If I ever use "raw" troops I suppose I could use a dismounted officer to lead them on.
The figures are Scruby, Foundry, and some I cannot remember. The 12" measuring stick is metal from this vendor.

The Corps Commander is on a Round Base to make him instantly recognizable.
The limbers are metal. ( Yes, I know 2 Prussian limbers crept into the photo !) But you get the idea. When guns are limbered I put the limber adjacent to the gun as another fancy marker. When unlimbered it is off to the side. Later, I'll do up another several corps and then it's on to the Prussians. Will have plenty of cavalry to lend tone to the brawl. Pat Condray would love it.

An eagle-eyed reader advised me that the white-jacketed lancers are ideal for Italy, where the luckless lancers were mistaken for Austrians. In 1870 they changed to sky blue stable jackets and were mistaken for Prussian uhlans.
