"* The Iraqi city was liberated by government forces after being under the control of ISIS for the past two years
* Now the government has begun the task of rebuilding Fallujah so those who fled can return to their homes
* Soldiers also have to prevent militants from launching another assault on the city which they held for two years

Pictures from inside Fallujah have shown the scale of destruction after Iraqi forces freed the city from ISIS control.

The city was the first in Iraq to fall to jihadis in January 2014 and it was the group's last major stronghold in the sprawling Anbar province.

It was full liberated at the weekend, and the first pictures since the fierce battle have shown the scale of devastation, including bombed out buildings, unexploded mortar shells and petrol bombs that were being lined up to be used inside a school…"

Now … hold it, as nothing says Daesh can't counterattack. And then rebuild … And plan/prep for the liberation of Mosul.

Amen ! And again, my faith in the Iraqi forces is limited at best.

Mosul is next on the list but many including myself believe the Iraqis will have a much harder time there. For a number of reasons.
Plus I'm sure there will be other battles in places most of us have never heard of. In the Iraqi's quest to rid themselves of Daesh and it's supporters.

IT's a beautiful bridge, and it's going to be there.

So the U.S. airstrikes on Fallujah today, that reportedly killed 250 ISIS fighters, must have been imaginary!

Mako1129 Jun 2016 8:41 p.m. PST

Why are they bombing after the city's been pacified?

Also, I find the 250 ISIS fighters killed to be a dubious claim, since just a few days ago they said they all ran away.

Which is it?

Can't be both.

Maybe ISIL fighters are infiltrating back in or were hunkering down in some very deep and dark hole no one thought to check?

At least 40-55 Daesh vehicles destroyed and @ 250 Deash put on the bus to "Paradise" … "Aloha Snack Bar" ! Now that is a Kum-bya moment !

Today's news is most of Falluja has been captured. I'm sure Tango01 has had links to Falluja being liberated days ago. I guess all those stories about Falluja being liberated are premature. Two days of ISIS vehicles being shot like fish in a barrel as they retreat out of Falluja.
