Here in Finland it is rather well know… One of the problems with Fokker was that the armament was inadequate. I've read many tales of dogfights between Fokkers and Russian I-16's where the Russian pilot was saved by the armor plate behind his seat. When choosing the fighter Finnish Air Force also had He-112 on the list. Winter War casualties to Russian Air Forces would've looked even more grimmer with the 20mm cannon of He-112. Plenty of additional bombers would've also been downed with the cannon. link |

One He-112 was even on display in the aviation event S.I.L.I. II (register D-IEFC) on May 1938 in Helsinki. Along with a Fokker D.XXI in Finnish colors. link Plenty of other He-112 pics here: link Here is an old silent short film (newsflash?) from the event, but it is mainly focusing on president Svinhuvud. Fokker does make appearance in 1:05. Hopefully this is also visible outside Finland…
