Howdie. We recently gamed an Iran-Iraq War scenario, "loosley" based on the start of the battle for Khorramshahr in 1980. I took some liberties with historical accuracy to accommodate what my collection holds…. but a fun game. link Thanks. Chalfant |

Most interesting. What rules? |

Disposable Heroes & Coffin for Seven Brothers, and the Seek Out Close With and Destroy modern supplement to DH/C7B. Some modifications, but that is the core. For clarity, there is not an Iran-Iraq War supplement. I felt the mass of armor at short range demonstrates some ineptness during the war… in game terms, these would be hideously close ranges for these MBTs. A "fault" of the scenario more than of the rules :) Chalfant |

Very cool, looked like a fun game, and I love the setting. For some reason I've been looking at this recently too, maybe in 3mm or 6mm. Thanks for posting, and I look forward to more. Also, I hadn't seen your Talavera report previously, that was awesome! V/R, Jack |

Thanks. Proves you can game more than one genre :) Yes, we had some discussion that we may need to go micro armor for the larger tank battles… they had a few, at least early in the war while the Iranians still had large numbers of tanks. Chalfant |

Chalfant, I've got Iraqi and Iranian micro armor and ton of scenery to contribute if you guys hold it sometime that I can make it. Monday nights never work for me. |

Great report and models. Wish I'd come across your rules before rebasing my figures. |

A.E….. sometimes we game on the weekends too. You will have to let me know who you are, as I don't recognize the handle. The two airborne guys I know are not engineers :) Chalfant |

Nice looking game and I think you are right about it capturing the "spirit" of the war – a fight conducted at short range with butcher knives |

Interesting conflict to game, you can do everything from relatively modern armour brawls to straight up trench fights. |

Frederick I think you are right about it capturing the "spirit" of the war – a fight conducted at short range with butcher knives With those casualties, I would compare it more too, "hand to hand with shotguns". i.e NO body is going to just "walk away" from this one. Sounds like it was a very fast, hard hitting game. Certainly plenty of fire power. Well Done |
