The visuals from the trailer make it look quite entertaining. May still have to go to a matinee (reduced price) viewing, just for fun. Watching others killing evil aliens seems like a good distraction from the real world for 1.5 – 2 hours. |

I see a lot of SF or war movies and just watch allowing them to flow over me. Good? Bad? Does not really matter and I am not judgmental though I have felt rather dissatisfied as I left the theater after may of these movies. Sequels are rarely as good as the original is an old saw and usually true. At least Independence Day is not another Star Wars/Trek movie (ducks). Must admit to being tired of those two franchises. |

I watched it last night. The plot and story was really bad. The characters were even worse. Some of the visuals were cool. I liked the fighters, bombers, airliners, gun emplacements, etc… because of the alien tech. I also really liked the alien "Warriors" which they show more of in this movie than in the first one. The queen design was also pretty nice, but she was way too big and too much like the Xenomorph Queen. I hate the deus ex machina of her existence. The alien fighters got a redesign, not sure how I feel about that. |

Just came back from seeing and while it was a dumb summer action film, so was the original. Keeping this in mind I will have to say that it was entertaining and quite fun so in that regard it served its purpose and fulfilled what I expected/wanted it to be. |

It is not that bad. Watched it this last weekend and enjoyed it. Though I do have a few problems. It would seem that the only Military we have are Fighter & Bomber Aircraft. Really!!! No Space Battleships? No Ground Armor or Arty? Oh and not learning from the first time and not developing Anti-Swarm weapons. But other than that the movie is worth watching just to see humans killing Aliens. So lets not wait another 20 years before the next movie where we go out and kill Aliens in Outer Space. |
