Since the Pound is at a record low and possibly going lower, who out there is gearing up for some big purchases while this low lasts? I might grab something… .maybe a QRF T62 platoon for my Team Yankee Collection. Or maybe some odd figures to finish my Colt War British force. Anyone else thinking of a shopping spree? Also have any UK vendors seen an sudden uptick in sales??? |

Great idea, but I think I'm shopping for undervalued stocks first. |

I'm a wargamer, so it's the toys for me. I don't have much to spend but this will certainly help me get more for my buck! |

I am thinking about it. I was going to start a post in the "industry" section asking UK dealers what they thought, as in is it financial blow, or just part of fluctuating currency exchange and part of business? |
Mako11 | 24 Jun 2016 1:03 p.m. PST |
Buy now, before they raise their prices by 10%+. |
Tgunner | 24 Jun 2016 1:05 p.m. PST |
But they are predicting that the Pound could go as low as $1.20 USD. Jump in now with a bird in the hand or wait for the two in the bush???? |

I picked up some stuff now. May pick up some more if the Pound drops lower… Damon. |
Cold Warrior | 24 Jun 2016 1:54 p.m. PST |
I grabbed a bunch of stuff earlier today. Was tempted on a QRF order, still may to get some more T-64's and other odds and ends. We'll see how the pound is doing tomorrow. |

It would be a great time to grab a couple of the Ebor WSS brigade deals. But I still can't afford them. |
leidang | 24 Jun 2016 2:19 p.m. PST |
I grabbed some stuff just before the vote since I thought it would go up. Might buy some more now. |

Great for UK exports this… onto other hand I wonder how much the new Wings of Glory planes will cost us in the UK. Currently we pay in pounds what those in the USA pay in Dollars. Still there's an endless seesaw in currency that we debate and I guess 'enjoy' in this hobby. Earlier this year the pound was doing well against the Australian Dollar so Eureka got a pile of money from me. I say take advantage and buy from the UK now, cos we need your cash. |
axabrax | 24 Jun 2016 3:46 p.m. PST |
I don't know it's at like $1.35 USD for every dollar instead of like 1.50 a dollar. Even if if you spend a few hundred bucks I wouldn't call that a dramatic savings. I'd probably wait for someone to have a sale before I'd be really tempted. |

I spent 40 pounds sterling two days before the vote. Silly me. |
LAP1954 | 24 Jun 2016 6:13 p.m. PST |
I was planning some purchases, this just means I have a little more to spend. I will definitely take advantage of the lower rate. |

Already done. Two A.M. CST at a $1.34 USD. Wasn't quick enough for a $1.33 USD. Now a $1.36 USD. |

Some websites had already locked a Pound/Dollar exchange rate in their on-line store as part of the on-line store set-up and maintenance. The website will ask where you live or will auto-detect it or you will select the pricing from Euros, Dollars, or Pounds while shopping. So, no benefit yet if purchasing with US dollars unless they re-set rate…. I don't THINK you can, as a US customer, purchase with Pounds and choose to ship to US and THEN have PayPal or your credit card convert to the better rate. Maybe I'm wrong? *shrug* |

I will wait until Scotland advances plans to leave again, and if N Ireland and London threaten do the same I can see the pound diving big time. |

If we are discussing London leaving the UK it might be a good idea to stop this thread? martin

"If we are discussing London leaving the UK it might be a good idea to stop this thread?" Not so fast. London could well join forces with Texas when it "brexits" the USA. – LOL! |

Henry M- "Wouldn't that be Texits, ZOC?" Didn't want to make up a name for something that nobody really believes is going to happen. I have a hard enough time keeping up with actual name changes every time someone gets offended by something. |
