Historicon is right around the corner and once again we have painted ourselves into a corner. Lots of work with not as much time as we wanted. Life rears it's ugly head and gets in the way of our gaming, but some late nights and lots of coffee will see us through.

Anyway, we(Alan, Bob, Lou and I) are putting on The Battle Of Austerlitz at Historicon. It's a big battle and to pull this off, we had to make some upgrades to my basement. This will be a 12 x 6 foot table. I only have 8 feet of table so we will add a section. Lets get right on to the build.

New Workbench. It's a kit from Amazon, the cool thing is you can make it any size you want up to 4x8. I went with 3x6.

New Battle table section to add 4 feet to my existing table.

Now I have a 12 foot by 5 foot table. Woot!

Now for the actual battlefielf build. As always pink foam insulation as our base.

Here is our base of 12x6 feet.

Laying out terrain features.

More terrain layouts. Once we like the look, we will draw in with sharpie.

Router makes quick work of lots of carving.

Dremel with Router attachment for steams.

Laying out the elevations like Pratzen Heights.

Please check out the blog. More pics and explanations of what we are doing.

What scale is the game going to be, 15mm? What rules are you using?

Xintao24 Jun 2016 7:21 a.m. PST

Figures will be 10mm. Rules are our own rules, written by Alan. Same rules we used to run Marengo and Rivoli in past cons

I think I played the Marengo.
The rules are based similar of that of the FnF mechanic platform, if I am thinking of the correct ones.

Looking forward to seeing it a Historicon
Good-luck on your build!
I have only my towns to set-up left to do.

I've been impressed with your setups in the past, and this looks to blow me away yet again.

As someone who has an inkling to build terrain but doesn't have the living space to do so, your basement set up would be a dream. I'd love to just watch you work and learn from you.

Thank you very much. I enjoyed that.
