Legionnaire w/ Jean-Claude Van Damme. Because…you know…Van Damme is in it. Obviously, I don't take my movie viewing too seriously. |

"Rogues Regiment",with Dick Powell, where his character joins the Legion(Post WW2) to search for a fugitive war criminal in what was at that time French Indochina. "Abbott & Costello In The Foreign Legion" also comes to mind,as the others previously mentioned do too. Also the Porky Pig short,"Little Beau Porky". |

I hate to say this, but Legionnaire ain't nun two bad a movie, believe it or not. Of course the Gary Cooper version of "Beau Geste" is number one. March or Die does little for me. |

Markoff: [Markoff props a dead man on the fort's wall] Everybody does his duty at Zinderneuf, dead or alive! We'll make those Arabs think we've got a thousand men. Markoff: [to a dead soldier he props on the wall] The rest of the bullets you stop won't hurt as much as that first one. |

The Lost Command with Quinn but I think he is in a Para regiment, not the Legion, There are other Dien Bien Phu movies with Legion, such as Jump Into Hell. What I do not like about the Van Damme Legionaire is that there are no bayonets on the rifles. I think Beau Travail is the most realistic Legion movie. I like Ten Tall Men, because, you know, Burt Lancaster is in it, and Jody Lawrence. |

I just watched "Outpost in Morocco" on TMC. Except for George Raft as the French officer it was quite interesting. A little too drawn out and not enough focus on small arms as opposed to explosions. Worth a watch at least. |

1966 Beau Geste. I find the Gary Cooper version spends too much time on the "cute" childhood sequence. The 1966 version cuts to the action. Of course, I own both. |
