Remember back in 2005, when I promised pictures of those Sumerian chariot stands in 6mm?

Got mine today and couldn't hold back..

Needless to say they are a joy to paint 8-)
Yet another delightful plastic release from Victrix.
Man, I so cannot wait for the EIRs now..

So far I've been able to keep from buying them (because I have 4 units of 24 of various brands of platics and metals unpainted).

Pictures like this are NOT helping my resolve! I know I'm going to crumble soon.

Nice work – looking forward to seeing your first phalanx. I do like your 'gritty' painting – makes them look like they have seen a lot of service.

Anybody know how these compare with Warlord's plastic phalangites – I have a couple of boxes of Warlord painted up and want to expand. Do I add some of these or do more Warlord (on offer at moment).

I don't have the Victix phalangites (yet), but do have some of their greek hoplites, and I've painted lots of the Warlord phalangites. I used some of the Victrix Greek Hoplites in my Warlord Phalangites units to make up command figures and IMO they mix very well, with one caveat – the heads on the Victrix hoplites are bigger than the Warlord heads. Those were the first ancients sets by Victrix, so that difference might be less now. That said, when the figs are ranked up, I never notice the difference between the Victrix and Warlord noggins… I think mixing the Victrix phalangites with the Warlord figs would be nearly seamless.
