Are their any scenarios available, historical or fictional. I'll probably be using TSATF rules or Field of Battle. I lack suitable imagination and need some ideas!
Thanks,
Mark

There are some in the TSATF Scenario Portfolio 2000.

Try looking at the sorties of the Pretoria garrison during the First Boer/Transvaal War.

The Official History and the Times History of the War in South Africa (both multi-volume works) have lots of goodies. The German Staff history is not so fruitful.

So many varied small actions, especially in the late war. I read the Afrikaans sources, but I believe there is a book on the late/guerilla phase, in English. Also, SA Journal of Military History available free on the net, has some excellent accounts.

@Durban Gamer- can you remember the title of the English book at all?

If you keep scrolling on ColCampbell's link, you can buy just the Boer Scenarios separate. As well as all of the "Enemies" of the Queen. Pathans, Zulu's etc. Recommended. I have the Zulu & Pathans. I need to get the Boers. These have just been re-released as separate Scenarios, I suppose. I have not seen them available for a long time!

I used one of the Zulu scenarios for our Brom Memorial game seen here:

IMHO, skirmishes are the way to go with the 2nd Boer War. How about Duivelskloof (Devil's Chasm) for a small skirmish game? It's the action in the film Breaker Morant where Capt. Hunt is killed. You need only 10 Bushveldt Carbineers and 6 Boers and a Boer homestead. There's a great Guerrilla Raid scenario in Wargames Illustrated #87. I've run it a couple of times and it's a real nail biter. A Boer Commando makes a sneak attack on a British supply depot on a rail line. There's a randomized chance that a British cavalry patrol or armoured train may appear to aid the depot detachment. If you send me a PM with your email address I'll send you a scan.
