That is the most impressive naval game I have seen. Love the small size but great detail on those ships. Interesting war too I know almost nothing about.
Very cool!

Happy you enjoyed it boys!. (smile)

Question for those who wargame with those lovely ships… any of you put some crew in them?… don't know if there are crews in that scale…

Ab Fab! Beautiful paint jobs and great organization by the club.

Armand,
A six foot tall man in that scale is only 1.5mm tall. I have a lot of 1/1200 scale ships, and I use Irregular Miniatures 2mm figures for ground troops, as they are close enough. I've never tried to put crew on my ships though, as there is not a lot of room on one. Once the rigging is in place, it's almost impossible to reach the deck.

Absolutely beautiful game!

Brian – where did you get the mat? I use a similar leatherette gaming mat but mind's much darker – I prefer the colour of yours.

Cheers

I did man the yard-arms on a 1-1200 scale 74 ship once. I used hair-roller spikes. It worked. So also made troops for landings with the spikes.
Sorry! no pics as I cannot work out how too on this site.

Best age of sail period to game. What rules were used? The game seems to have gone fast.

Brian W, you can use EDUARD miniatures. There are for scale 1/700 and 1/800. For ships of scale 1/1200 this sailors work well.
I add some links about examples.
