I am in the process of re-doing our 15mm bridges and I am wondering what are the standard base frontages for 18th to 20th century infantry and cavalry bases. TIA Dave |

Typical is 25-30mm (1 inch) pre stand |

Please please please please make me some 15mm scale bridges that will fit a 1" stand between the rails. Please. Did I say please? All of my bridges are a shade too narrow between the rails and my AWI and ACW troops look like they're grinding the rails like pro skaters… How wide are the current 15mm Stone Mountain bridges? - Ix |

30mm for figures based per Peter Pig/RFCM, 40mm for the WRG/FoG tradition … I make most of my own terrain but do buy bridges so long as they fit 40mm wide elements. Phil |

1 1/8" would cover just about every set of rules I can think of from SYW to ACW that use multiple bases for a battalion. |

The current inside widths of our bridges in 15mm are: TRF61 – 11/4" wide TRF62 – 11/4" TRF64 – 11/4" If I do make them at least 40mm side would that be too wide and look "odd" on the table? Dave |

40mm wide is way too wide for 15mm. I got some Timecast bridges which fit 40mm wide bases and they just look silly on the table top with 15s (although fine with 20s and bigger). Most of my 15mm stuff is on 30mm wide bases max. |

Agree with Martin, artillery and limbers look lonely on 40mm bases, so only my DBA ancients go on 40mm frontage! Rest of 15mm on 30mm frontage. |

Why not offer an expandable bridge? Two sides with an optional drop-in/take-out-again central road section. Or even just make the sides able to stand up by themselves and then can be pushed together or spaced apart. |
