I recently bought a Warlord Games Roman starter army very cheaply and have made a start on what will be a fairly sizeable painting project!

I've based each miniature on a 25mm round plastic base with a 0.85mm self- adhesive magnet under each one. This sticks to a metal repair washer glued in each hole of the War Bases movement tray, which in turn has a small neodymium magnet recessed under each tray.

The figure sticks to the movement tray, and the movement tray sticks to a very thin sheet of galvanised steel lining the bottom of a plastic Useful Box. The figures are kept neat and tidy and reasonably safe from becoming detached, yet can easily be used individually for skirmish games.

Nice work. Certainly better than anything I manage.

Hope none of the fellows falls down that open manhole in the background.

Nice painting mate, have you thought of putting a bit of grass on the movement trays?

Lovely work!

Thanks!

I probably will go back and add more detail to the bases and match the movement trays to them, but painting the army (and their barbarian opponents!) is on the 'to do' list first. :O)
