I am interested in getting some skeletons for a little warband to paint. Non rules specific so any line is good as long as they have some character. I am not looking to break the bank with some rare OOP figures but I am also not looking for cheap filler but fun scuplts that will look nice painted up. I really don't want cartoony skeletons either.. something fearsome, dark, and gritty if you please. Thanks DZT |

Why not look into getting some Mantic Revenants. I think they look the part. |

I'd recommend metal figures if you're just looking to paint up a handful of guys for a warband. Both Reaper and Ral Partha have excellent sculpts. |

Oh yeah Reaper, also anything from Bob Olley if you can find it, his skeletons always look super evil to me. I think Reaper has 3 or 4 of Bob's skellies. Otherworld has 2 packs of armored and awesome skellies for 11 pounds a piece, plus a leader for 5, but they are so cool. |

Ral Partha used to have a great little box set with a lich, maybe eight different skeletons one with a skeletal war dog on a leash and a skeletal ballrog, all in one box. Beautifully done sculpts, you can check and see if RP Europe or Iron Wind still offer it :) |

Have you considered Reapers Bones skeletons ? This has 170 results in their store, but it includes ALL skeletons, not just humanoid ones. link |

Mantic's are some of the more evil looking skeletons around and are also easy to handle. |

I am liking the look of some of Ral Partha skeletons. Does anyone know how they scale next too Reaper? |

I'd cast my vote for the Warhammer Vampire Counts skeletons. |
