Sniper Lyudmila Pavlichenko Killed 300 Men — And Now There's a Movie About Her ‘Battle for Sevastopol' is less impressive than its subjectby SEBASTIEN ROBLIN The 2015 film Battle for Sevastopol is the true story of how Lyudmila Pavlichenko, a female Soviet sniper who killed more than 300 Axis soldiers during World War II, became a gal-pal of the first lady of the United States. That's a topic so compelling in and of itself that it's worth putting up with Battle for Sevastopol's often clunky dialogue and uneven story-telling in order to appreciate its tale of feminism, violence, war-time love triangles and post-traumatic stress. link

Reasonable review. The dialogue is clunky, but it looks good and the action is very well done. Well worth a look. |

Sounds remarkable, if flawed. As my wife and I married in her home town of Odessa, and she is a major WW II buff, there are lots of background elements that make this a "must see" for us. TVAG |
