I've taken some comparison pics of various manufactures Indian figures that you can view on my blog. Most of them fit fairly well together.
Here's the link if you would like a look. withob.blogspot.co.uk |

Thanks, very useful pics indeed. In getting reasonable matches it's not such much height variations as breadth of faces/heads. |

You haven't included the QRF/TSS Skinners Horse/Irregulars with Lance or Sword. I have found them to be in the middle size-wise to the older Freikorps 15s and the new Black Hat horses. Black Hat seem very solid in comparison. |

Yes I think that too Durban Gamer. I'm doing the mounted stuff as a separate post DFM. Photos have been taken I just need to write it up, agree with your view though those figures were made by Steve Shaw. |

Steve Shaws figures are very lovely. I'm happy to choose them first. I have found the old TTG Napoleonic Prussians and British cavalry Light Dragoons to fit very well with Steves figures. Do you have much information about the HM 3rd King's Own Light Dragoons? I've nearly finshed painting my unit of them when I came across the passage "..Captain Unett leads the Grey Squadron of HM 3rd King's Own Light Dragoons.." Grey Squadron? What was the rest of the regiments horsed with? Was it just one squadron mounted on Greys as a Grenadier type Squadron? Any info would be great. |

Sorry DFM I don't know the answer but the practice of allocating horses by colour to different squadrons is known from elsewhere. I doubt grey horses conferred a higher status but perhaps so. |
