First time going to Fredericksburg. How is access for vendors? A hard slog? I have a couple of hundred books I need to clear out (I have a cart). |

Also if any of you flea market guys want some of the Historicon flyers I was sent some of the flea market ones by mistake. I can send them to you so that you can send them out to your customers. |

It's usually in the back of the main hall. There are a couple of doors at back so you can pull the car up, unload and then park. But you do have to check in with the FM person first. Also not hard to just roll in from the parking lot through the hall---longer walk, etc. |

I plan to be in the flea market with 100s of books as well. Many hardback along with the new Osprey and Concord for sale at less than $10 USD each. Good luck to you and your efforts. |

It went up after the move, I understand. Not to get back into the old war,but keep in mind that a flea market table for the entire weekend totals $100 USD, and that's not counting membership and registration fees. There's also the fact that you have to pack everything up and haul it back out to your vehicle every night, and do it all again the next day,a laborious task,to put it mildly. Not to mention the increasingly severe restrictions on flea market vendors, one effect of which is to cast flea market people into something close to a pariah role, or so it has seemed to me over the years. One result has been that some people who have a little stuff to get rid of have given up on the regular days, and just come in on Sunday--which means those who leave Saturday miss out. OTOH, the "Free Sunday" table was one of the moves intended to encourage people to stay longer,so if it's helping with that, it's a good thing. |

I'll be on the look out this year for cheap 15mm ww2 from Battlefront or PSC, 15mm European terrain, and decent or well painted 28mm medieval horse and foot for Osprey's Lion Rampart. One result has been that some people who have a little stuff to get rid of have given up on the regular days, and just come in on Sunday I remember strolling into the Sunday session last year at about 9:30 and there was almost no one there. Was disappointed, because Sunday is the day to find the best bargains, not semi professional sellers. |

Maybe things have changed since the move. In years past,Sundays at the Host or Gettysburg were pretty filled up by that time. I hope it was just a fluke. I don't know how many "semi professional sellers" there are; there are a number of people who show up regularly. I suspect many are like me,avid collectors (i.e. magpies) who come(partially) to their senses periodically. I go to a lot of yard sales and flea markets to feed my collection, and if I see something I think a wargamer might like, I usually pick it up. I like the idea of getting it into the hands of someone in the hobby( I'm talking mostly about military history books here). As for bargains, I've found them on any given day of the convention. It's true that some people will cut their asking price on Sunday,so they won't have to cart as much stuff home. You do see some oddball stuff on a Sunday. Once a guy was trying to sell some of his old clothes, and years ago I picked up a 1916 German trench helmet for $5. USD Now that was indeed a bargain… |

Cheap Ospreys in the flea market; I love it, I hope you sell them all at bargain basement prices. The Haberdasher over in the dealer hall isn't going to like it. Too bad for him. Are you bringing anymore 25mm Frontier ACW figures Rudi? |
Rudysnelson | 20 Jun 2016 10:38 p.m. PST |
All Osprey will be $10 USD or less except for some rare ones like the Polish Napoleonics Armies. I will have a couple of large Rubbermaid containers of $6 USD and $8 USD books. New hardbacks run mostly 1/2 price or less. Most used books are $6 USD-$9 with one box of $1 USD books. Most Concords are $9 USD with some at $6 USD and a few tough ones to find at $12 USD like the Two on the DAK. |

If you are interested in milHist books, stop by Kermit Kincaid's table. He always has a great selection across many popular topics and he is reasonably priced. I have acquired a number of useful and interesting from him over the years B |

Several people expressed concern over Kermit's absence at Cold Wars. Do you know if he's OK? |
