Hi all. I am bothered by a couple of details, painting the WF Von Kleist jagers. Colour of the leather belt and cartridge box, definitly black? Colour of the aiguillette and shoulder strap, any answer? Thanks for feeding back. |

Thank you very much sir! However, Kronoskaf does not mention the aiguillette…. License taken by Mr Copplestone or Kronoskaf omission? Anyway here they are…. Prospective/possible colour? White assorted to the buttons, … deep green as the cockade and rosettes? Or red like the facings? Any idea?? |

Since the lace and piping of the von Kleist hussars and dragoons (as shown in the link provided by ColCampbell above) are white, I think it is a reasonably safe assumption that any aiguillette would be white too. Furthermore, John Mollo's "Uniforms of the Seven Years War, 1756-63" (New York City: Hippocrene Books, 1977) illustrates the dragoon uniform with a white aiguillette. Shoulder straps in this period, unless part of an epaulette, seem to have usually been in the same color as the coat. |

Thank you very much Attila, it was also my first guess but I lacked references to support it. Mollo still remains a top value. Thanks to all, I shall provide photos once the unit completed. |

I just checked my Knotel plate and he shows the von Kleist Frei-Dragoner to have white lace, belts and aiguillette. Same as posted above, but thought you might appreciate another source. Sorry I don't having anything finite on the jagers. Terry |
