I believe there may have been an article on the Luddites in one of the gaming magazines but I cannot recall which or when. Any ideas? Thanks.

I would very much like to create a fictitious battle between these two nations. I am new to war games, so know very little on how to design this for the table top. I would like to include cavalry, aircraft and AA guns. If anyone can help to develop this, I would be very grateful

Dave,

Just how new are you? The game systems Flames of War by BattleFront has a book, "Eastern Front" that (while set in 1942), would enable you to set up just such a scenario.

And they produce most of the models you would need.

Does that help?

I wargame Romania vs USSR in WWII all the time. I would highly interested to see some scenarios, if anyone has some available.

I use the Eastern Front book with Flames of War, like Ed has suggested, albeit in 1/72 scale rather than 15mm. Technically it's for 1942-1943, but the equipment from 1941 is pretty much there so it works for my purposes. I had hoped that the Barbarossa book would include Romanian lists, but instead they decided the Romanian lists would be "digital only" which is a complete non-starter for me so I stick with the Eastern Front book.

The Romanians have a cavalry list available in Early War that includes aircraft (HE-112B or Stuka) and AA MG (13.2mm mounted on trucks). Look for the Barbarossa (Digital Exclusive).

If you want to develop scenarios for the Romanians in 1941, I suggest doing a Google search for "Operation München" or "Operaţiunea München". This was the operational name of the joint German/Romanian campaign to re-take Bessarabia and Bukhovina during July of 1941, as part of Barbarossa.

However, don't do that search today. It seems there has been a shooting in Munich (Munchen) today, and what you'll probably find with a Google search today are the current police operations. :-(
