Hi
Who does a good Maxim gun and crew, I'm sure there's loads out there but I'd love a recommendation.
I'd like to get some 1/56 plastic AFV as well (of course!!!)- Rubicon or Warlord???
I've seen some Italeri stuff are these the same as the Bolt Action Warlord kits in a slightly different box.
I normally game 19th cent and before so this is all new.:)

I recommend the full Warlord Games range – we here in Lone Star Historical Miniatures (LSHM) and Texas Bolt Action group love everything Warlord Games produces – great models, great company, excellent sales staff and a fun game to play.

I have a very large Russian army, I especially like the new Russian winter dress kit. You can't go wrong with them.

I like the Crusader miniatures Maxim. I like Rubicon tanks and AFV's too!

I have seen the Maxim and crew in te warlord Army box and it looks nice and I have their plastic T34-85, which went together like a dream and likewise looks nice, certainly good quality fit and finish.

I just cast Kosta Heristanidis version for the Eureka 28mm Soviets yesterday. It looks good to me, though it is in metal.
Also made a 50mm mortar and antitank rifle team at the same time.

Do you want the vehicle plastic kits because you want to do (major) conversion work?

Because if you're not a great modeller type, then Army Group North Miniatures' solid resin models are easy to assemble (often just needing metal gun barrels glued on) with no other assembly required.

[Well, everyone else is promoting their stuff. :) ]

Thanks for the info everyone -gratefully received.
I prefer metal figure and I think that plastic kit seem more accurate/detailed (could be wrong!!)-also they would have straight gun barrels that won't bend and I don't want to be fitting steel or brass ones.
Having said that those AGNM vehicles look pretty good.

Warlord Plastic Soviets are really great….

For lead I prefer Artizan or even Eureka. Some of the warlord lead is a little brittle, depends on the kit.

Warlord plastic AFVs are easy kits to assemble (except the Puma – :) )… The Rubicon kits are another good choice.

Thanks, Graham. And I'll keep an eye out for your name on any emails just in case.

BTW, nothing is going to bend a barrel on our KVs or T-34/40 models. :)

That's good to know -I've got a couple of Westwind models which have soft metal barrels so I thought that might be the general case.

Black Tree makes a nice Maxim MG and crew (3), both deployed and moving.
