I was thinking of creating a 13th cent Polish Crusader Lion Rampant retinue for the Northern Crusades. Would I be right in thinking at that date the Poles would be feudal retinues identical to the German or Tuetonic retinue lists? That it wasn't until later centuries that the Polish armies incorporated light horses archers?

I am no expert on this but I checked with the DBMM army list for Polish armies between 960AD and 1335AD and it allows Lithuanian, Hungarian and Cuman light cavalry (all would be armed with bow) after 1242AD to be part and parcel of the army. Before that, the only source of light horse archers was Hungarians fighting as an ally i.e. not incorporated into the Polish army.
