Here's my first paintjob for my new 15mm project having moved up from 6mm.

Let me know what you think.

Nicely done mate. Enough detail without going mad.

Probably nicer than my work. They are fine.

Looking good

Nice…I would use a light grey block color for waistcoat and breeches…then highlight with white. It is very simple and makes the figures "pop" alot more.

Yes, great start and nice idea using the golf tees!

Nice work!

I like the wash over white primer idea. I've just started in 15mm after moving down from 28mm and I find it hard to see the detail to begin with so I will try this.

I'm even thinking of applying two coats of the black wash as a primer. It really brings out all the details and allows for depth when the painting happens. I find a pure black primer is harder to see detail.

I usually prime white (largely because I can't see the detail when I prime black), block paint slight lighter colours than I want in the final figure and then wash with Army Painter strong tone. I don't dip them but use a brush.

It is fairly terrifying the first time you do it – as you brush awful black stuff over your hard work – but they come out pretty well.

You'll have no trouble seeing the details if you follow a solid black undercoat up with a damp brush (or two) of white. It brings out the detail, provides a lighter surface where you need it for your paint, and leaves the inaccessible areas and depressions suitably dark.

Those are great looking miniatures! Any general would be proud to lead them on the table.

I now have a reason to buy one of those little games at Crackerbarrel !

First 15s, damn nice job. Now, are those figs a true 15mm or closer to the AB figs in size, if you don't mind me asking?
