A while back I inherited a very large quantity of Epic figures in various states (from still on the sprue through to very badly painted) and have slowly putting them together in armies and have reached the Eldar.

There seams to be an awful lot of these

Titans.

The question is how many do I make up for an Epic Army?

Let's see … I have 4 of those Original Mk.1 Eldar Heavy Titans. 1 of the Mk.II Eldar Heavy Titan. And one each of the Eldar Mk.1 and II Scout Titans … To answer your question, you have enough to play any version of Epic. Which do you play ? AT1/SM1, SM2/TL, E40K, Epic:A or NetEpic … Unless you fight a Titan vs. Titan battle, you probably only field 1-3 or 4 on the board.

These are the Mk.I and II Scout Titans and Mk.II Heavy I have. You have the Mk.I Heavies there.

You should cross post this to the 6mm Sci-fi board. As Epic is not really considered 40K. And I recommend you go to the Tactical Command site. Which covers all versions of Epic and many other 6mm sci-fi there. taccmd.tacticalwargames.net

Thank you. I'll ask where you suggest.

1-3 or 4. there must be a dozen of those Mk1 heaves and I have not looked at the scouts (they are all in a jumble of bits).

When you have a large surplus of everything beyond your maximum points list, and don't want to sell, you can always experiment with other Craftworld color schemes for a one off to see if you like it or paint up another army.

Same with Space Marines, Orks, etc. But I'd only play casually, with some excuse for a few stands of different factions being drafted into a mix if I didn't have another complete army.

Your house, your table, your rules, if you don't want to play like a sanctioned event.

* Sigh * Unpainted plastic Squats and pewter Imperial super weapons have been waiting for my attention for quite some time.

42 – Glad to help ! Yes, any extras can always be sold or traded on Tac Cmd. Or sold here or eBay, etc. If you don't paint them up as suggested, etc., … And I recommend Epic:A or NetEpic. I like very little about SM2.

I used to field 3-4 per game but I took part in some very big games.

Legion,

SM2 just needs some tweeking in the way unit activate. Get rid of the First Fire stuff and it can be a great game.

We added Activation in SM1. We had been gaming for a long time. So we new it was a better system. And we like all the Order Counters and their use. But that is just us. Always do what works for you …

127 may be too many.

Well if you count my Imperial Titans of all types = 23. And Ork Gargants of all types = 6

Hi!

Depending on which system you use I would say about 6 would be enough since that would yield you enough variant weapon load outs on them to give you options.

For most "regular games", one or two is enough. However having 6 lets you vary which one or two you use. :)

Personally I stopped counting once I hit 300.

For those with some hours to kills and look at pictures: link

This is all prior to my "projects". I could only guess what my real numbers are right now.

I put 4 phantoms, 1 warlock and 3 revenants as batch on my painting schedule and put the rest of the Eldar Titans away to be done whenever.

From what has been said here and else where that should do the Eldar for the time being so next will be the Squats.
