"Calling all Maori (New Zealand) Wars players..." Topic

Gents,

There is an opportunity to get some 28mm figures sculpted for the 2nd and 3rd Maori Wars. The figures are off two types. The first are Forest Rangers and the other are ‘western clothing' Maoris of the later Maori wars period. There may be able to be some head swaps which will further increase the variety and utility of the figures.

There is a thread going on the Lead Adventure Forum that shows some of the figures sculpted by the same sculptor would do them for Eureka Miniatures. His work is excellent and well regarded.

We are looking to get a around 8 figures of each type (dependent on how many we 'to buy' commitments we can get). Combined with some head variants there should be a fair bit of variety that could be created.

So if you would like to see these figures sculpted pop on over to the LAF thread, have a read and post a reply there or on this thread. If we can get the numbers then a more formal announcement can occur…we need people to make this happen however as sitting on the sidelines and hop tin they get down won't make it happen.

Hi Nick,

Saw you post on the Maori Wars egroup.

There is no 'sign up' as such. At this point it's a matter of getting people to show their willingness to support this venture and the best place to do so IMHO is to keep the running tally on the original Lead Adventure Thread for convenience (it being the most active). Any prospective company that would take up the baton to do these figures can then easily view the discussion and interest around the proposal.

Any discussion here is welcome off course but to 'register' you willingness to get the figures and how many then please just make a post on that thread.

Gents,

Just a note – the latest Eureka Miniatures newsletter had this comment…

"If there is sufficient interest from you, our customers, for post-contact (gun powder armed) warriors, we will make them. We have included brief details in the 100 Club section at the foot of this Newsletter and full details are available by writing to nicr@eurekamin.com.au"

So if anyone has already registered a desire, or I wishes to, can you contact Nic please so he can gauge the 'real' orders so he can make a decision on the prospective figures.
