Dark green or dark blue? Hard to tell from the Mollo book. |

The plate is dark blue, but it's irrelevant as (a) it's based on a deserter description which isn't reported worn by other deserters, and (b) Connecticut did not issue uniforms to its 1775 regiments. (That said, one officer of the 2nd Connecticut mentioned that his company all wore "frocks and trousers" at Bunker Hill to cover up their (presumably) pre-war militia coats of blue with red facings.) The regiment is recorded as having a crimson standard, though. |
