As always morale is a matter of opinion so can shade either way, but saying that….
Agree with Timmo, the Cornish foot did things most other foot would have balked at.
The foot regiments with Hertford were mostly newly raised but served well throughout the war.
Hoptons west country horse and dragoons were a collection of disparate troops, most were quite experienced by now but I'd guess they varied a fair bit.
Hertford & Maurices cavalry were a mixed bag, Maurices and Carnarvons were top flight Oxford army horse, but the rest were quite new.
Wallers foot regiments were also quite mixed, see TMP link . he had a few experienced units ie Tom Essex and probably a detachment of Merricks. The west country foot werent anything special, while three regiments had been very recently raised in Gloucestershire.
For the horse, Wallers and Burghills were quite experienced, having had victories and defeats. The west country horse hadn't had much luck recently. Hesilrigges were an elite in one sense, being uniquely equipped, but had only recently been expanded from a troop to a regiment. Waller was well supplied with dragoons however and his own regiment were experienced.
I searched the BCW regimental wiki for Lansdown, see here link but remember many of the cavalry were independent troops still at this stage.
